The Building Acoustics mode is designed to cover any in-situ sound insulation measurement tasks. You may choose to measure airborne, facade or impact sound insulation. The measurement, the averaging and the evaluation – right up to the calculation of the single number information such as the building sound insulation index R’w – can therefore be carried out on the hand-held device without the need for an external control element.
Optionally it can be controlled from a smart phone using NorVirtual app supplied free of charge.
The Nor282 power amplifier – with integrated battery and WLAN – can also be controlled via WLAN. Nor145 sound level meters and the Nor850 software can control the Nor282 directly.
You may use predefined setups or creates your own.
The Nor145 sound analyser offers a built-in signal generator for excitation of the source room level measurements or for excitation of the reverberation time measurements. The results are measured in accordance with the ISO 16283 Standard requirements. With additional background level measurement results, an on-board calculation of the final airborne sound insulation indices DnT and Rw in accordance with ISO 717 is performed. Of course, the similar possibility is available for impact sound insulation index Ln,w using a tapping machine such as the Nor277.
The reverberation time excitation may alternatively be based on an impulsive source. In any case, results for T15, T20 and T30 are calculated in parallel. The analysers are seamless integrated with the Nor850 software, either as a remote frontend to the Nor850 Measurement System, or as a manual measurement tool for exporting measurement files to the post processing Nor850 Reporting System. Complete calculation of airborne, facade and impact sound insulation indices in accordance with international and national Standards.
With this application, you stay in the room yourself and carry out the spatial and temporal averaging by manually swinging the sound level meter through the room during the measurement. Alternatively, the averaging can be carried out using individual measurements at different microphone positions.
The internal building acoustics mode in the Nor145 guides you through the measurement routine of ISO 16283, forms average values (from several positions) and calculates the single number information according to ISO 717, such as the building sound insulation index R’w or the standard Impact sound level L’n, etc.
The advantages:
As an alternative to direct measurement in the handheld sound level meter, the Nor145 can also be controlled via WLAN, either via the free NorVirtual app (for smartphones/tablets with Android or IOS) or via the Nor850 software (for tablets/laptops with Windows). In this case, you can stand outside the room and control the measurement from your laptop/tablet/smartphone.
